City of Surrey: Economic Development Analyst (Term Opportunity)

Reporting to the General Manager, Investment and Intergovernmental Relations, the Economic Development Analyst will conduct research on federal and provincial government policy initiatives; produce statistical, sectoral and economic reports in support of the Division’s objectives; design and maintain databases and analyze economic trends.  The successful candidate will liaise with senior levels of government and various business organization and associations and effectively establish and cultivate stakeholder relationships.  You will respond to inquiries from both government and the business community and provide timely and appropriate advice, business information and /or referral to appropriate government or business resources.

Tentative EDABC 2010 Conference Agenda - May 30 - June 1

The draft agenda for the 2010 EDABC conference has been released and can be found by clicking here. Destination Osoyoos announced the following in their February 24th newletter.

"Osoyoos has been chosen as the host community for the 2010 Annual General Meeting & Conference of the Economic Development Association of British Columbia (EDABC), the provincial organization for economic development officials from communities across the province.

"Destination Osoyoos made a bid and the selection marks the first time Osoyoos has had the opportunity to host this major event," Destination Osoyoos Chief Executive Officer Glenn Mandziuk says. "We are very pleased and honoured to be selected and expect that nearly 150 delegates and partners will be here for the [May 30 - June 1], 2010 conference," he says.
